Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw Interacts with Students at MNIT Jaipur

Hon'ble Union Minister for Railways, Electronics & Information Technology, and Information & Broadcasting, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, interacted with students of Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), Jaipur, in the presence of Prof. N. P. Padhy, Director of MNIT Jaipur. The interaction provided students with an opportunity to directly engage with policymakers and discuss issues related to technology, digital infrastructure, and public services.

During the discussion, students raised concerns regarding the performance of the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) online ticket booking platform, particularly issues associated with CAPTCHA verification and delays during peak booking periods. Responding to the feedback, Shri Vaishnaw assured students that a redesigned and enhanced IRCTC website is scheduled to be launched by 15 July 2026 to improve the user experience and reliability of online railway ticket reservations.

The Minister emphasized the Government of India’s commitment to strengthening digital public infrastructure and ensuring that citizen-facing services remain efficient and accessible. During the interaction, he also reviewed the progress of the upcoming IRCTC platform with railway officials and reiterated the importance of addressing user concerns in a timely manner.

The event highlighted the role of academic institutions such as MNIT Jaipur in fostering meaningful dialogue between students, academic leaders, and policymakers. Under the leadership of Prof. N. P. Padhy, the institute continues to provide a platform for discussions on technology-driven governance, innovation, and national development.
